Tips for Photographers Looking to Attract Clients

Are you looking to gain more photography clients? To attract clients and be successful as a photographer, you have to focus on the business part of photography. You may take extraordinary photos, but if you don’t have clients to purchase them, your business will go under. You probably already have business cards, a website, a blog, and a social media presence. If not, then there are your first steps to exposing your talent and business for others to see. Here’s what else you can do to give your photography business more exposure to attract clients:

Find websites to display your work

In addition to putting pictures of your work on your website, find other websites to submit your work to. If you specialize in a specific type of photography, such as wedding photography or landscaping photography, do some searching online to find websites that specialize in those types of photos. Although websites may not pay for your images, you will get credit for your work and a link back to your website. There is an array of websites so take your time finding the best websites for photographers to show your images. Participate in trade shows

Photography trade shows, conferences, and expos are a great way to show off your work and meet potential clients. Potential clients will get an up close and personal view of your work and you can answer any questions they may have in person. Make sure to have your business cards available so interested clients can easily contact you. Reach out to your local paper

News outlets are always eager for new story ideas and are usually more than happy to look at any photos you have that may be of use. Reach out to your local paper and let them know of your story idea and images. If they’re interested, your photograph will be published in print and online, giving it lots of exposure.
